Leeks, Leeks, Leeks. I've always wanted to cook with them, but never got up the courage to grab em at the store. Apparently, with their mild, onion like flavor they are rich in nutrients like garlic and onions. Before the Farmer's Market closed for the winter I took the leap. Looking for a recipe that combined ingredients that I already had in the kitchen I scowered the internet for the perfect leek forward dish. After a few short minutes of searching, Martha Stewart's Chicken, Mushroom and Leek recipe was the winner! I only needed to get a few extra ingredients to make it work.
